In 2008, 365 Retail Markets was started in a
garage, with three hard working friends.

Since then, Joe Hessling has built his team to over 130 employees across the country, and expanded 365’s business to deliver the same great technology and service that we have in the US. However, Joe remained true to his Michigan roots by not only keeping the headquarters in Metro Detroit, but also making it the hub of our design, development, support and manufacturing of our world class point-of-sale hardware, software, and mobile technologies for the workplace.

With tens of thousands of payment centers in the marketplace, 365 has been expanding our offerings beyond MicroMarkets to encompass a broad range of self-service and payment products.

2017 (so far)

  • 365 launched nanomarket™ & Connected Campus.

2016

  • 365 was recognized on the 5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies, for the second year in a row!
  • The team shipped out over 5,000 devices (in this year alone).
  • We went international- expanding to Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom!
  • 365 partnered with McCarthy Capital Fund VI to level up our business development.
  • CEO, Joe Hessling was recognized as a Champion of the New Economy by Dbusiness.
  • 365 comprised 45% market share for MicroMarkets, according to Automatic Merchandiser’s “State of the Industry” report.
  • We launched 365 Inside with the 365Pay app.
  • 365 Inside was recognized as Automatic Merchandiser’s Readers’ Choice Product of the Year.
  • We were still keeping up with that 99.99% uptime for kiosks & software!

2015

  •  365 received recognition on the 5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies.
  • We expanded the 365 family, welcoming AirVend.
  • Cancel Report capability was added to our product suite as a MicroMarket security feature.
  • 365 joined the Business Act on Climate Pledge.
  • Our first 365 MEET User Group Conference was a success!

2014

  • 365 was recognized as one of the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch by Michigan Celebrates Small Business.
  • We developed new partnerships & received Series A financing.
  • We also deployed over a dozen feature upgrades to both kiosk and web management, including QuickCharge capability, multilingual and SMS receipts.

2013

  • 365 was recognized as a Crain’s Michigan Fast 50
  • The 365 Gen3 Kiosk was launched as a new companion to our existing portfolio, along with multiple payroll deduct and stored value account options.
  • We became the first provider to achieve full PA-DSS certification.
  • 365 moved (seriously, again) to our current office & manufacturing facility.
  • Uptime was maintained at 99.99% for both kiosks and software.

2012

  • 365’s newly launched self-checkout Gen2 Kiosk won the NAMA Innovation Award.
  • The team moved AGAIN to accommodate continuous growth.
  • Uptime for both kiosks and software reached 99%.

   2011

  • 365 secured significant funding, and initiated a large-scale rollout to the industry’s largest vending operator.
  • The team moved out of the garage & procured new office space to accommodate growth.

    2010

  • We were blazing trails, enhancing our industry-first RFID system with a barcode-only & full cash-coin kiosk.

    2008

  • 365 Retail Markets launched our initial business plan & market testing for an RFID-based self-checkout system.

Joe Hessling

Founder & CEO

Joe Hessling is the Founder and CEO of 365 Retail Markets, the global leader in self-checkout workplace technology. 365 Retail Markets offers the best-in-class platform for MicroMarkets, vending, foodservice and hospitality. Under Joe’s leadership the company has been pioneering innovation since 2009.

A serial entrepreneur, Joe has founded, owned and operated several companies in the past twenty-five years in areas ranging from Distribution, Managed Services, Restaurants and other investments.

Joe is a member of the National Automatic Merchandising Association Board of Directors

Chase Meyer

Board of Directors

Chase Meyer is Vice President at McCarthy Capital. Mr. Meyer joined McCarthy Capital in 2008 and is based at the firm’s headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. His responsibilities include originating and evaluating new investment opportunities, structuring and executing private investments and management oversight of portfolio investments.

Prior to joining McCarthy Capital, Mr. Meyer worked in corporate audit at Union Pacific and pension consulting at Towers Perrin, which is now Towers Watson.

Mr. Meyer earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

BJ Hansen

Board of Directors

BJ Hansen is an Associate at McCarthy Capital, based at the firm’s headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. His responsibilities include originating and evaluating new investment opportunities, structuring and executing private investments and management oversight of portfolio investments.

Mr. Hansen began his career with McCarthy Capital as an analyst in 2008. Prior to joining McCarthy Capital, he worked as an investment banker at George K. Baum Advisors.

Mr. Hansen earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Patrick Duffy

Board of Directors

Patrick Duffy is President and Managing Partner of McCarthy Capital. Mr. Duffy joined McCarthy Capital in 2007 and is based at the firm’s headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. He has more than 20 years of investment, corporate finance and transaction experience. His responsibilities include managing operations, raising investment capital, evaluating and making private investments and management oversight of portfolio investments. He serves as chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee.

Mr. Duffy earned a Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California.

Krishna Vedula

Chief Technology Officer

Krishna holds an MBA from University of Mumbai and various technology industry accreditations from Project Management Institute (PMI), Oracle and Microsoft.

Krishna enjoys reading, watching big ten football, long distance running and travelling around the world with his wife. Krishna is relocating to Troy from Naples, Florida.

Joe Rogan

CFO

Joe Rogan is the chief financial officer at 365 Retail Markets located in Troy, Michigan. A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a master’s degree in Business Administration and a Certified Public Accountant, he has over 30 years of experience in finance and operations. Joe has two decades of experience in the Vending and Food Service Industry and was an early adopter of MicroMarkets.

Joe is an operations-oriented executive who is able to work with customers, vendors and internal teams to design and implement creative solutions.

Ed Chapel

Chief Revenue Officer

Ed graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing with emphasis in Computer Science. He lives in Parma, Michigan with his wife Robin and their three rescue dogs and cat in their 1890 farm home. He loves spending time with his three children, Garrett, TJ and Chloe, and their families, including five grandchildren. Ed also enjoys traveling along with various sports and outdoor activities throughout all seasons in Michigan.

John Chidiac

President of International

John Chidiac joined the 365 team in July of 2014, as the Chief Operating Officer. John was responsible for developing and maintaining operations for multiple departments and ensuring that various departments are prepared for the future growth of 365.As current President of 365 International, John is responsible for the expansion, development and growth of 365 around the world.

Prior to his position at 365 Retail Markets, John held a series of high-level executive positions with Investment firms, technology companies and telecom carriers in the US, Europe and the Middle East.

Ralf Lindackers

VP of Engineering

Ralf joined 365 in 2012 during the early stages of the company. Ralf holds several degrees, certifications and patents focusing on design and manufacturing. With over 15 years’ experience in product design and electronics manufacturing, Ralf is leading our hardware roadmap planning from prototype to production launch. In his time away from the office Ralf is passionate about motorsport. During the summer months you can find him on race tracks around the Midwest where he campaigns his BMW in the NASA GTS challenge.

Colleen Wisinski

Controller

Colleen Wisinski joined the 365 team in September 2013. Colleen came from the cosmetics industry where she held the positions of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, dealing with major retail giants and major drug chains such as Wal-Mart, Rite Aid, Walgreen’s and CVS. Her responsibilities ranged from accounting, finance, and human resources, to information technology, customer service, and marketing for this manufacturer and distributor of cosmetics and nail polishes. Prior to that, Colleen was the Controller at Creative Marketing Associates, a developer of marketing materials for the building industry.

Angela Forge

Director Of Operations

Angela Forge is the Director of Operations at 365 Retail Markets overseeing the Implementation, Support and Logistics Departments. Prior to working at 365 Retail Markets, Angela was on the implementation team for AT&T Wireless Services bringing AT&T wireless to Michigan. While taking some time off to start a family she started her own business called Bailey’s Baskets and obtained her license in Real Estate. Angela was working with The Michigan Education Association in 2011 when a phone call came from Joe Hessling asking her to join the 365 team. She is one of the remaining original members.

John Veit

Director of Sales

John Veit is the Director of Sales for 365 Retail Markets, responsible for leading the team to provide best in class solutions into vending and micro markets across the globe. He is also responsible for developing new markets and optimizing routes to market to provide the best customer solutions and experience in the marketplace.

John has a diverse background in sales having led highly productive, successful sales team for over 15 years in the IT hardware, software and services areas, including SaaS and cloud based offerings.

Chad Young

Director of PMO

Chad Young is the Director of Project Management with over 12 years of experience managing a diverse array of technology projects. A native of Ravenna, Ohio, Chad obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mount Union and has professional certifications from the Project Management Institute and ScrumAlliance. When he’s not managing projects for 365, Chad enjoys spending time with his family and managing home improvement projects around the house.

Ryan McWhirter

Director of Product

Ryan McWhirter is the Director of Product at 365 Retail Markets, located in Troy, Michigan. A graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Telecommunications, he has a decade of experience in the interactive self-service technology field. McWhirter is a solution-oriented professional who has implemented kiosks, digital menu boards, mobile apps and much more across the restaurant, airport and casino industries.

Bob Regan

HR Director

Bob is a business-oriented HR Professional with strong strategic, analytic, and leadership skills. He specializes in Teambuilding/Facilitation, Customer Acquisition Integration, HR Policies & Procedures, Talent Acquisition and Retention, Performance Management and Organizational Effectiveness. 

Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Walsh College and a master’s degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources from Cleveland State University.

Chad Francis

Director of Vending Technology

Chad Francis has 15 years’ experience in enterprise and mobile software. He was the co-founder of AirVend, recently acquired by 365 Retail Markets. Before founding AirVend he created a custom software development company creating products for customers such as Disney, Costco and Intel. Before that he managed development teams building large scale desktop, web and mobile applications for the insurance industry.

Vita Olynyk

HR Manager

Vita Olynyk is the Human Resources Manager at 365 Retail Markets, located in Troy, Michigan. She graduated from Oakland University with two bachelor degrees – one in Human Resources Development and the second in Spanish Language and Literature. She also graduated from University of Scranton with a master’s in Human Resources Studies.

With almost a decade of experience in talent acquisition, compliance, employee relations, benefits, payroll and training, Olynyk has implemented HR technology as well as policies and procedures to better the employee experience.

Lou Frontero

Facilities and Warehouse Manager

Lou Frontero is the Facilities and Logistics Manager for 365 Retail Markets. His industrial expertise covers a wide range of functions including transportation logistics, warehousing, packaging optimization, freight & parcel management, warehouse layout & design, import/export operations and facility management. Prior to his role at 365, Lou worked in warehousing, routing, delivery, and sales for top-tier beverage companies, wine distributors and medical companies located in Metro Detroit.

He is very passionate about his work and is always pushing himself for the betterment of the company. He is self-motivated and enjoys the challenge of completing the daily whirlwind.

Tyler D'Orazio

Services Manager

Tyler began his career with 365 as a Client Success Specialist L1, where he was responsible for taking incoming calls and troubleshooting customer issues. Promoted to Client Success Manager in 2014 and Services Manager in 2015 he now leads a team of 26 to service our customers in 10,000+ locations worldwide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Tyler graduated from Lawrence Technological University in 2013 and enjoys web design and traveling in his spare time.

Jen Tonio

Marketing Manager

As Marketing Manager for 365 Retail Markets, Jen leads all strategic marketing and communication efforts including managing media relations, branding, internal and external communications, social media and website development. Jen is a frequent presenter in NAMA’s Micro Market Seminar series and is a member of NAMA’s Emerging Leaders Network (ELN). With over a decade of marketing experience, Jen previously held various marketing roles throughout the emerging technology and automotive industries and has worked on projects for a variety of major brands including Toyota, Chrysler, DTE Energy and Coca-Cola. Jen studied marketing and communications, and obtained her degree from Oakland University.

Jeff Horstman

Production Manager

Jeff Horstman is the Production Manager for 365 Retail Markets. Since joining 365 in 2014 as a Kiosk Production Specialist, he has overseen the production of over 7,500 kiosks. Jeff graduated from ITT in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in computer and electrical engineering. When he’s not busy building our amazing kiosks, Jeff enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his two grandkids.

Dan Dolinshek

Development Manager

Dan Dolinshek is the Software Development Manager at 365 Retail Markets in Troy, Michigan. A graduate from Oakland University with a bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Dan has been involved in writing software for the automotive, aviation and vending industries for over 15 years. He most enjoys mentoring and working with his team seeing software projects out the door. On his best days, the team will let him jump in and help out writing code but many days are spent working to improve the quality and performance of 365’s software suite. Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and children and when not with them, he can be found tinkering with his cars or working on home improvement projects.

Arron Roscoe

QA Manager

Arron Roscoe is the Quality Assurance Manager for 365 in Troy, Michigan. With a degree in Computer Science in 2003, he started his career in QA in 2006, and has been giving developers a hard time ever since. When Arron isn’t writing up a defect, he can be found under the hood of a car, or driving around a racetrack.

Jason Halstead

Development Manager

Jason has over two decades experience in providing IT solutions, support, and management to manufacturing operations – primarily in the automotive industry in the Midwest. He came back to Michigan in 2013 and joined 365 Retail Markets to put his software development skills to use growing the technology side of the business and eventually become the Development Manager of the Valet product suite.

In addition to various certifications Jason has a Masters of Business Administration, a Bachelors in Applied Science, and an Associates in Business Administration. He has also held state records in powerlifting and has published books that have been USA Today and NY Times bestsellers.
